"Students don't care how much you know, until they know how much you care."
My role as a Physical Educator is to teach with enthusiasm while being a role model and advocate for being physically educated. Each child deserves a dedicated leader who teaches with passion, while nurturing and encouraging students. Applying my creative skills to the classroom environment will enhance, inspire and guide all students who enter my classroom. Creating a classroom environment that presents students with challenges and high expectations is very important, but I must also give them the guidance and patience to achieve those standards. It is important to build a positive community within my classroom that encourages my students to grow. Valuing students by showing each one respect and helping build their self-esteem will brighten a classroom.
Teaching will provide me an opportunity for continual learning and growth. Continuing to grow as a teacher by attending professional classes, seminars and skill building workshops will help keep my teaching knowledge and strategies up to date. My students' growth through physical activity is expected to increase, so my content knowledge and abilities should grow as well.
Each child who walks in to my gymnasium is a unique individual who needs a secure, caring and stimulating atmosphere in which to grow and mature emotionally, intellectually, physically and socially. It is my desire as a Physical Educator to help students meet their fullest potential in these areas by providing a safe learning environment that supports challenge, risk-taking and the sharing of ideas.
As a Physical Educator, my desire is for students to develop a deep love and respect for themselves, others and their environment. One of my hopes is to instill a love of physical activity in my students, as I share my own passion for physical activity with them. I feel there is a need today for compassionate, strong and dedicated teachers who are excited about working with children. My hope is to touch the lives of my students in a way so physical education will never be forgotten. In our competitive society, it is important for students to receive a sound academic and physical education, and to be taught by someone who is sensitive to their individual needs. I am such a person and will always strive to be the best physical educator I can be.
